Staff Software Engineer – Systems, Network Proxy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance and take ownership of the on-endpoint network proxy solution.

• Intercept and manipulate network traffic from third-party applications.

• Hook or redirect outbound connections.

• Terminate and re-establish TLS sessions.

• Implement content-aware policies in real-time.

• Incorporate low-level collectors for tracing data flows across applications, files, sockets, and pipes.

• Integrate traced data into a unified event stream.

• Optimize performance for software that monitors hundreds of thousands of events while ensuring minimal impact on endpoints.

• Design and develop highly reliable code that maintains a seamless end-user experience.

• Create secure-by-design software that can withstand real-world attacks.

• Manage untrusted data and communicate with a backend over the internet.

• Contribute to the evolution of the product and influence its architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in systems software, networking, proxy, or security engineering.

• Strong expertise in network interception and low-level systems.

• Proven track record in network interception and data parsing.

• Prior experience with at least one forward proxy utilized by security software.

• Experience in debugging, profiling, and optimizing low-level system software.

• Skilled in designing and implementing application architecture.

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and SCRUM.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed cross-functional team.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Willingness to frequently communicate with a distributed engineering team in Central European and US Eastern time zones.
