This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and incorporate innovative cryptographic systems into an orbital edge computing platform and software products.
• Create and implement security and data sovereignty models for multi-tenant workloads and communications at the orbital edge.
• Develop cryptographic and key management solutions tailored for intermittent connectivity, limited resources, and remote/autonomous operations.
• Design and execute key management and certificate lifecycle solutions, encompassing generation, storage, distribution, rotation, revocation, and secure deletion.
• Conduct threat modeling, architecture assessments, and security code evaluations.
• Build libraries, APIs, and services for engineering teams to utilize cryptographic services.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to provide customer-centric solutions.
• Integrate cryptographic solutions with HSMs, TPMs, or TEEs when applicable.
• Offer guidance and promote secure coding best practices to developers.
• Assess cryptographic agility, focusing on post-quantum readiness and adapting to evolving standards.
• Deliver results iteratively within a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in a systems programming language such as C, C++, or Rust.
• Extensive engineering knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography and cryptographic protocols.
• Experience in designing and implementing key management, PKI, and certificate lifecycle solutions.
• Proven track record with secure development practices, threat modeling, and security-focused code reviews.
• Experience in constructing secure systems in cloud and/or multi-tenant hosted environments.
• Familiarity with Git distributions like GitLab and CI/CD tools.
• Preferred: experience in integrating cryptographic solutions with HSMs, TPMs, or TEEs.
• Preferred: knowledge of NIST 800-53, FIPS 140-2/3, or CMMC.
• Preferred: experience with post-quantum cryptography and cryptographic agility.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
