Staff Software Engineer – Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture, technical design, and implementation for your team's segment of the platform, transforming the roadmap into engineering strategies that are successfully deployed and maintained in production.

• Lead the most challenging technical decisions within your domain and address ambiguous, high-stakes issues before they become obstacles.

• Design and develop essential components of our compound AI system, which includes agents, LLMs, and RAG, with an emphasis on reliability, assessment, and scalability.

• Manage your team’s most intricate, mission-critical projects from inception through production and iterative improvements.

• Establish and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, architectural frameworks, and AI-native development methods within your team.

• Enhance your team's effectiveness by mentoring senior and mid-level engineers, raising quality standards through code and design reviews, as well as your own direct involvement.

• Collaborate closely with product and design colleagues to identify requirements and align on priorities.

• Keep abreast of advancements in software engineering and applied AI, integrating relevant innovations into your area of the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of back-end engineering experience or its equivalent, including time spent as the technical lead or architect for a team or substantial product area.

• Extensive experience in architecting production-grade distributed systems and scaling them, with strong proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, or other major back-end languages (preferably statically typed).

• Demonstrated ability to set the technical direction for a team and deliver complex, high-impact projects successfully.

• Practical experience in building or scaling AI systems in production, ideally LLM-based, agentic, or retrieval-augmented, with sound judgment regarding the appropriate applications of AI.

• Strong business insight and the capability to translate technical solutions into measurable business outcomes.

• A mindset geared towards continuous learning and a preference for testing new approaches rather than merely observing them.

• Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of building consensus, uplifting peers, and managing cross-functional relationships effectively.
