This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design and enhance the decision engine for agentic communications.
• Develop and manage the experimentation layer and orchestrate channels for communications with patients and providers.
• Establish the technical direction for a communications stack involving multiple vendors.
• Take ownership of the unified message ledger.
• Transform LLM-driven personalization from idea to implementation.
• Act as the technical lead and architectural steward for the Journey team.
• Collaborate across various functions including marketing, CX, product, and the patient organization.
• Influence systems that affect patient acquisition, retention, and health outcomes.
• Guide the team through intricate platform architecture and promote technical alignment across teams.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, including significant time at the Staff level or in an equivalent role.
• Capacity to navigate ambiguity and rapidly acquire knowledge of new technologies and systems.
• Systems thinking capability within a complex, multi-vendor platform.
• Proven experience in delivering high-throughput, event-driven production systems.
• Ability to convey technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional alignment.
• A keen interest in the convergence of AI and communications.
• Technical expertise and a capacity to enhance team capabilities.
• Experience in designing and constructing high-volume, event-driven communications platforms managing millions of events monthly.
• Proficiency with multi-vendor delivery stacks and evaluating build-versus-buy decisions.
• Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing, engagement analytics, personalization, or recommendation systems.
• Practical experience with LLM-driven systems, focusing on reliability, latency, and quality at scale.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct oversight.
• Proficiency in Python 3 and TypeScript.
• Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, React, Remix, or Next.js.
• Knowledge of Postgres and Redis.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, including Fargate, ECS, and S3.
• Experience with Spark and Kafka.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Datadog, PagerDuty, and Sentry.
• Familiarity with GitHub.
• Experience with Snyk and Semgrep.
• Knowledge of Lacework.
• Experience with Knock, Iterable, Twilio, and Mailgun.
