Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Contribute as a vital member of a self-sufficient, cross-functional product team.

• Partner with UX designers, Product Managers, and software engineers.

• Provide exceptional customer experiences while scaling systems to accommodate growth.

• Assist in the maintenance and support of team-developed software, including participation in an on-call rotation.

• Create event-driven microservices and APIs within a distributed architecture.

• Develop interactive web applications utilizing ReactJS, Node.js, and Backbone.js.

• Build infrastructure on AWS, which includes EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elasticsearch.

• Engage with event streaming and big data solutions utilizing Kafka and Spark.

• Enhance and expand the current feature set.

• Influence architectural decisions and elevate code quality through reviews and mentorship.

• Take comprehensive ownership of issues, including scoping, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience as a software developer.

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or 3+ years of pertinent industry experience in place of a degree.

• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, ideally including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Comfortable utilizing AI-augmented development tools like Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor.

• Acquainted with storage engines such as SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and RDS offerings.

• Knowledgeable in instrumentation techniques and data-driven decision-making.

• Strong communication skills through interactive channels and documentation.

• Excellent collaboration abilities and a proven capability to work within a team.

• Experience in event streaming architecture and stream processing is a plus.

• Robust Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform is desirable.
