Lead Engineer – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture, quality, and delivery of the Angular application along with associated APIs and services.

• Establish and uphold coding standards, patterns, and best practices for mobile and full-stack development; promote an A.I.-first engineering mindset.

• Direct technical roadmap decisions, ensuring alignment with product objectives, timelines, and the wider engineering team.

• Offer technical expertise in architecture, design, testing, and implementation that spans from web UI to backend API contracts and LLM integration patterns.

• Conduct comprehensive code reviews and perform root cause analysis on critical production issues.

• Manage the complete delivery of web features from technical scoping through to release and production monitoring.

• Decompose complex requirements into actionable engineering tasks, milestones, and defined ownership across a distributed team.

• Identify and proactively address technical risks throughout the entire development lifecycle.

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and release management processes for both platforms.

• Establish and uphold best practices for observability and logging across all application layers.

• Develop and implement solutions with a focus on performance, security, and accessibility.

• Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team across the Americas and India.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Backend teams while adhering to Agile principles.

• Spearhead organizational initiatives and consistently enhance engineering practices.

• Engage in the hiring process by reviewing resumes, conducting technical interviews, and assessing candidates.

• Set performance expectations for both full-time employees and contractors.

• Ensure software quality through automated testing, alerting, and proactive production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years dedicated to full-stack development.

• Familiarity with A.I.-first engineering and tools such as Claude, Co-Pilot, and others.

• Strong grasp of Object Oriented Design principles, including the proper architecture of both UI and API.

• Proven capability in full-stack development — comfortable owning or collaborating on BFF / API layers.

• In-depth experience with cross-browser and cross-platform development, including mobile and responsive UI.

• Experience in developing and architecting high-transaction, high-throughput systems.

• Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams across different time zones with a strong sense of personal accountability.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities; meticulous, methodical, and skilled at translating complex business requirements into straightforward software solutions.

• Proficiency with CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and open-source technologies.

• Experience with LLM / AI-native development patterns and integrating AI-driven features into consumer products.

• Experience leading teams of 5 or more engineers across multiple geographical locations.

• Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture and microservices.

• Background in mobile accessibility (WCAG, platform accessibility APIs).

• Experience in fintech, consumer lending, or similarly regulated sectors.
