Staff Software Engineer – Guarded Containers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to create innovative services and features that enhance the core product, making it more attractive and valuable.

• Develop robust tools and services to continually improve our image build system as it scales.

• Take ownership of high-impact, technically complex components of the Chainguard stack, acting as the subject matter expert in those areas.

• Engage in long-term planning and roadmap discussions, assisting in the identification of key challenges the team needs to address and ensuring their resolution.

• Mentor engineers and elevate the standards for engineering quality throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in software development, including data structures, algorithms, compilers, Makefiles, and toolchains.

• Proficiency with containers, container registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and its broader ecosystem.

• Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code solutions, along with the ability to create modules and logically organize resources for reuse.

• Experience in writing services or tools using Go.

• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and the capability to work independently, take initiative, and seek assistance proactively when needed.
