This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Contribute to defining the technical vision of the developer platform, encompassing CI/CD, build systems, and AI agents.

• Create and develop AI agents for tasks such as coding, code review, test generation, release automation, and incident response.

• Enhance tooling as the engineering team expands, ensuring both reliability and developer satisfaction.

• Implement standardized tools and practices across engineering teams.

• Elevate the technical standards through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership on technical priorities and decision-making processes.

• Act as a representative for Samsara externally through presentations, open source contributions, and recruitment efforts.

• Embody Samsara’s cultural values.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of software development experience, including a minimum of 2 years in an architectural or technical leadership capacity.

• Strong foundational knowledge in programming and design.

• More than 4 years of experience working with large-scale distributed systems.

• At least 4 years of experience leading technical projects across various teams.

• Experience in building developer platforms, internal tools, or CI/CD for a sizeable engineering organization is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or custom agents is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Go, Python, TypeScript, or a comparable programming language is a bonus.

• A proven track record of significantly enhancing engineering efficiency is desirable.

• Ability to thrive in uncertain environments and unify teams without formal authority is a plus.

• Must have the legal right to work at Samsara and in the specified work location.
