Staff Software Engineer – Data Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +27 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop connectors for traditional ETL platforms, databases, and contemporary cloud data systems

• Interpret XML, SQL, repository exports, scripts, and vendor-specific formats

• Transform extracted metadata into precise lineage and dependency models

• Establish automated tests and known-good datasets to ensure connector accuracy

• Enhance the connector framework in collaboration with the Principal Architect and document reusable patterns

• Incorporate AI into routine development to expedite reverse engineering, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation

• Take ownership of the connectors and parsers that drive FormativGroup's product for assessing migration risks in regulated enterprises

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in data engineering, metadata, or systems integration

• Practical experience with ETL platforms, SQL parsing, data lineage, or transformation logic

• Proficient in reverse engineering unfamiliar or inadequately documented systems

• Comfortable working with TypeScript and developing automated tests

• Proven experience integrating AI tools into the software development lifecycle

• Strong inclination towards quick shipping, thorough testing, and error resolution

• Must possess authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available

• Must reside in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WI, or Washington DC

• Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter, DataStage, Talend, SSIS, or similar platforms is a plus

• Knowledge of graph models, OpenMetadata, OpenLineage, compilers, or parsers is advantageous

• Experience in delivering software in regulated or security-reviewed environments is a plus
