Staff Software Engineer – Catering & Events

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of intricate, high-impact projects that involve multiple teams and systems from inception to production.

• Own and enhance the architecture of critical systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Propel technical strategy, streamline systems, decrease complexity, and enhance engineering efficiency.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to transform ambiguous challenges into actionable solutions that deliver measurable customer impact.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through guidance, design reviews, and hands-on collaboration.

• Establish and advocate for best practices regarding code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence.

• Identify and mitigate system-wide risks, performance bottlenecks, and scaling challenges.

• Advocate for AI and emerging technologies to enhance developer productivity and foster organizational innovation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading the design and delivery of large-scale distributed systems within a production environment.

• Strong backend proficiency, ideally in Java or Kotlin, with the capability to contribute across the entire stack.

• Skill in designing scalable architectures and making technical trade-offs among systems and teams.

• Experience managing ambiguity and aligning stakeholders effectively.

• Technical leadership background, including mentoring engineers and influencing engineering standards.

• Profound understanding of microservices architecture, system design, performance, reliability, and observability.

• Ability to break down complex problems into strategies and guide their execution.

• Strong product and customer orientation with a track record of delivering both user and business impact.

• Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.

• Experience utilizing AI-based tools or platforms to enhance engineering efficiency or enable product functionalities.
