Staff Software Engineer, Backend – Identity International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Establish a technical strategy for the team over a yearly horizon.

• Align team strategy with crucial projects that impact business outcomes.

• Engage with product management, design, and analytics throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

• Define and promote technical solutions and operational processes.

• Oversee team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.

• Support ongoing operational efforts and on-call responsibilities.

• Establish standards for code review and design.

• Champion engineering standards through writing and technical presentations.

• Foster team talent through constructive feedback, mentorship, and leading by example.

• Build and enhance Identity Data Management, KYC Verification, and Decisioning capabilities for global markets.

• Propel architectural changes that affect Identity services internationally.

• Support compliant expansion into new markets and shape platform evolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.

• Solid history of developing highly available distributed systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in delivering significant features or system components, or phasing out existing functionalities, through technical and execution plans.

• Capability to write high-quality, comprehensible code.

• Proficient in transitioning from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture.

• Proven ability to solicit and iterate on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Candidates must be based in Poland.
