Staff Software Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement intricate features and enhancements in accordance with architectural and product specifications.

• Craft high-quality, secure, and maintainable code.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute to the establishment of engineering standards.

• Conduct thorough technical investigations and perform root cause analysis of issues reported by customers.

• Actively take part in on-call rotations and resolve incidents.

• Enhance system reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Create and sustain automated testing procedures (unit and integration).

• Collaborate closely with teams in Product Management, Architecture, Security, and Technical Communication.

• Identify technical debt proactively and suggest improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proven experience in leading the design and delivery of complex systems, features, and services.

• Demonstrated ability to drive technical design, architectural decisions, and implementation strategies that align with long-term platform goals.

• Strong expertise in the C# / .NET ecosystem.

• Proficient in SQL, MS-SQL, and optimizing database performance.

• Experience with APIs (Rest).

• Knowledge of Active Directory.

• Familiarity with secure coding practices.

• Experience working with complex enterprise platforms.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, test generation, productivity tools) or a willingness to adopt them actively.

• Excellent structured communication skills.
