This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Establish the technical strategy for the team over a one-year horizon and align it with key, business-critical initiatives.
• Oversee software engineering efforts for all EU card operations.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the entire product development process.
• Define and promote technical solutions and operational protocols.
• Manage team operations and availability, which includes monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call responsibilities.
• Encourage quality and ownership through code reviews, design standards, effective writing, and technical presentations.
• Cultivate team talent by providing feedback, guidance, and setting a positive example.
• Engage across technology stacks on millisecond-level transaction processing as well as ledgering and reconciliation systems.
• Over 8 years of experience as a software engineer.
• Expertise in designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Skilled in developing front-end applications.
• Experience in delivering significant features or system components, or phasing out existing functionalities, through comprehensive technical and execution plans.
• Ability to produce high-quality, maintainable code that is comprehensible and usable by others.
• Comfort with working from low-level language idioms up to large-system architecture.
• Proven growth and impact through the collection and application of feedback from engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
