Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Design distributed, stateless, scalable, and failure-resilient systems in alignment with long-term strategic goals.

• Actively contribute to the codebase by prototyping, implementing, and reviewing essential features.

• Leverage asynchronous architectures and message-driven patterns to enhance latency, responsiveness, and service decoupling.

• Establish and execute data consistency, message ordering, and dependable state-transition patterns.

• Mentor engineers across various teams to elevate overall engineering capabilities.

• Advocate for testing, observability, continuous integration, and secure software development methodologies.

• Minimize technical debt and propel modernization initiatives.

• Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product, Data, Tech, and Infrastructure teams to influence roadmaps and architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering robust, distributed, mission-critical production systems.

• Proficient in asynchronous processing and message-driven systems utilizing Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or pub/sub technologies.

• Extensive technical knowledge in system design, performance optimization, concurrency, and consistency models.

• Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript.

• Knowledgeable in service-oriented and event-driven architectures, eventual consistency, and data synchronization.

• Expertise in CI/CD, test automation techniques, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Practical experience in secure coding practices and understanding of compliance and resilience in regulated or complex settings.

• Familiarity with metrics, logs, traces, incident management, and root cause analysis.

• Proficient in both English and French.

• Capability to guide technical direction across multiple teams without formal authority.

• Experience in mentoring Senior Engineers and influencing organization-level architectural decisions.
