This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design, architect, and develop RESTful API endpoints with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work collaboratively with front-end engineers to create dynamic, responsive, and user-focused web applications.
• Define data models and construct database schemas.
• Oversee relational or NoSQL databases, prioritizing data integrity and performance enhancement.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to application architecture, design, configuration, and upkeep.
• Provide estimates for tasks and delivery timelines to inform sprint planning and execution.
• Engage in on-call rotations and address production issues as they arise.
• Ensure the stability and uptime of systems.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Actively contribute to the architecture, implementation, and technical leadership of Sony Engagement Platform applications.
• Over 8 years of professional experience with medium to large complex codebases.
• Experience in full-stack development.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or Python.
• Background in designing and implementing REST APIs.
• High-level expertise in HTML, CSS, and the JavaScript ecosystem, along with familiarity in React, Angular, Ember, Jest, Babel, and TypeScript.
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong desire to collaborate and foster positive team relationships.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, a solid work ethic, and capability to work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Experience in database management.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of best practices in React.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automated deployment tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including SAFe and Scrum.
• Integrity, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct are essential requirements.
