This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Assume responsibility for technically challenging, mission-critical domains

• Establish and guide the technical strategy for new products and platform functionalities

• Design and deliver full-stack features encompassing backend, frontend, and possibly mobile

• Collaborate with product, design, and customer-facing teams to convert unclear challenges into technical plans and measurable results

• Develop and scale systems that support AI-driven products, including data ingestion, APIs, and operator workflows

• Elevate engineering standards through code reviews, design evaluations, technical mentoring, and quality assurance practices

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the company expands globally

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience

• Over 8 years of experience in software design and development, including large-scale production systems

• Strong foundational knowledge in full-stack development across backend services, APIs, and frontend web or mobile

• Proficient in Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, or other similar languages and frameworks

• Proven experience leading projects across teams or organizations from conception to deployment

• Background in creating AI-powered or data-driven products

• Excellent communication abilities and capacity to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Demonstrated history of developing zero-to-one products or significantly enhancing existing systems

• Ideal candidates will have experience delivering AI-powered production features

• Familiarity with AI-augmented workflows such as Cursor and LLMs is preferred

• Experience with operational data like telematics, sensor data, work orders, or inspections is advantageous

• History of mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering culture is desirable

• Involvement in side projects or contributions to open-source is a plus
