Staff Software Engineer – Agent Identity, Core Primitives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop the identity framework for AI agents, encompassing delegated actions on behalf of users, composite identities, and the audit trail of agent activities.

• Create a real-time authorization engine to determine agent permissions, and assist in selecting policy technologies such as Cedar, OPA, or AuthZEN.

• Establish trust frameworks for identities issued by Microsoft Entra, Salesforce, and emerging standards like OpenID Connect for agents.

• Implement authorization and continuous evaluation features utilizing live session and decision signals from existing identity solutions.

• Manage and preserve the interfaces and agreements utilized by the broader platform.

• Serve as a technical leader across teams, guiding direction and elevating standards for identity and authorization.

• Report directly to the Director of Engineering for Securing AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally, 10 or more years of experience in software engineering, with extensive expertise in identity, authorization, or distributed systems security.

• Practical experience in developing authorization or policy systems such as Cedar, OPA, OpenFGA, or similar engines.

• Familiarity with identity and token standards including OAuth, OpenID Connect, SPIFFE, SPIRE, or workload identity federation.

• Proven history of designing systems and interfaces that scale for use by other teams.

• Capability to lead technical decisions across multiple teams and effectively communicate them to diverse audiences.

• Experience in securing AI or agentic systems.

• Contributions to standards or open-source projects related to identity, authorization, or security.

• Background in privileged access management, secrets management, or identity governance.

• Must not require any form of U.S. work authorization currently or in the future, including F1-OPT, F1-CPT, H-1B, TN, L-1, and J1.
