This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Define and enhance the technical architecture, creating standards that foster safe, scalable, and reusable capabilities across teams.
• Serve as a technical leader among teams, guiding architectural decisions through design reviews, RFCs, and hands-on collaboration.
• Take ownership of key features and architectural enhancements from inception to completion — utilizing modern, cutting-edge technology and architecture.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives that shape the roadmap and architectural choices.
• Proactively address complex, business-critical issues such as third-party extensibility and real-time multi-user synchronization.
• Collaborate with QA, Product, Security, and Domain SMEs to ensure robust observability, reliability, and quality of the systems you oversee.
• Establish and advocate for engineering standards and best practices to enhance consistency, security, and maintainability.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying systemic risks and resolving root causes that affect reliability, performance, or cost.
• Work alongside DevOps and Security teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and production safeguards.
• Mentor both senior and junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
• Participate in production support as a senior escalation point, leading root cause analysis and driving preventative enhancements.
• Collaborate with a team that possesses deep technical expertise and strong domain knowledge; brainstorm and share ideas within an agile team of developers, testers, and a product owner.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating impact that extends beyond a single team.
• Extensive and in-depth experience with .NET and C# — recognized as a subject matter expert in all aspects of .NET.
• Proven track record in designing and evolving shared platforms or infrastructure utilized by multiple teams.
• Experience in delivering cloud-native systems on AWS, with a solid understanding of scalability, reliability, security, and cost management.
• Familiarity with both monolithic applications and microservices.
• Good experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of relational databases, particularly SQL Server.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with the capability to balance delivery speed with the long-term health of the platform.
• Proven experience in contributing to and taking ownership of significant architectural decisions.
• Experience working within an agile team comprising other developers, testers, and a product owner.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Strong initiative to enhance processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.
