Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Government

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical reliability of government environments and ensure compliant, effective deployments.

• Facilitate ongoing software delivery, address incidents, conduct postmortems, and develop automation strategies for deployment, self-testing, and alerting.

• Oversee and implement incident management for production issues, guaranteeing swift recovery, root cause analysis, and preventive follow-up actions.

• Enhance and optimize observability strategies in collaboration with application engineering teams to improve alerting and minimize noise.

• Establish, implement, and track SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs in partnership with product and engineering teams.

• Architect, develop, and sustain software solutions that tackle operational, compliance, and pipeline challenges.

• Manage and coordinate government environment releases while enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and visibility of the release pipeline.

• Grasp product architecture and service dependencies to manage risk and devise testing strategies.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, SecOps, compliance, and leadership teams to synchronize priorities and address challenges.

• Ensure that infrastructure and deployments comply with FedRAMP, government regulations, and industry standards.

• Keep necessary release documentation and risk assessments up to date.


⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and a work location in the United States are mandatory.

• FedRAMP staff may be required to undergo customer or third-party background checks, which may include Secret Clearance depending on their role at SentinelOne.

• 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering for SaaS products, including 4+ years managing operations at scale.

• 2+ years of production experience with a container orchestration system (preferably Kubernetes) and Continuous Delivery.

• Strong familiarity with compliance frameworks pertinent to government deployments, such as FedRAMP, DoD, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-137.

• Multi-cloud experience in AWS/GCP, with a preference for expertise in AWS.

• Demonstrated proficiency in at least one primary programming language, such as Python, Go, or Ruby.

• Skilled in Bash scripting.

• Knowledge of GitOps frameworks, IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi, and deployment strategies including blue-green, rolling, and canary.

• Experience with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry, along with incident management processes.

• Proven experience in implementing and supporting FedRAMP, security, risk management, and compliance processes for software releases.

• Experience working directly with government agencies or in highly regulated sectors.

• Familiarity with testing strategies and automation in large-scale settings.
