This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver software development and ongoing operational maintenance/support for the ARMD Test Data Portal (ATDP).
• Conduct daily system health assessments.
• Oversee system capacity monitoring.
• Administer user accounts and permissions.
• Manage storage resources.
• Contribute to the development of new features.
• Suggest and implement approved technical strategies for data management and integration solutions.
• Enhance system integration, performance, efficiency, intellectual property protection, and technical innovation.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance for NASA users.
• Oversee software updates and security settings for third-party platforms and tools.
• Monitor and update service tickets related to user issues and internal system management tasks.
• Guide and train junior team members.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience is required.
• 4–6 years of relevant software development/administration experience, including at least 2 years in software development.
• Must possess an active Security clearance, or be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
• Development experience in an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java and/or C++.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including object-oriented analysis and design, service-oriented architectures (SOA), SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience with requirements development, source control management, configuration management, bug tracking, and other development tools.
• Proficient in managing application security, including encryption protocols, LDAP or Kerberos authentication, certificates, and OS/application hardening.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to achieve project milestones and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of researchers and software developers.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and familiarity with DevOps tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, and Puppet.
• General knowledge of Red Hat Linux operating systems and software development practices.
• Familiarity with formal software development standards and processes, primarily Agile, version control systems, and container management software.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and jQuery.
• Experience with Visual Studio, NetBeans, or Eclipse.
• Knowledge of Atlassian tools including Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Crucible, and FishEye.
• Understanding of XML.
• Experience with Web Services, Apache, and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with HDF5 file format.
• Knowledge of MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud hosting and development platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Option for remote work.
• 9/80 work schedule.
• Typical working hours from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, adhering to west coast time.
• Active Security clearance, or capability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
