Staff Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Enhance the security of RTB House systems, infrastructure, and software development practices.

• Identify systemic security vulnerabilities across applications, on-premises infrastructure, cloud environments, internal platforms, and software development processes.

• Conduct security architecture assessments for both existing and newly developed systems.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to detect security weaknesses early in the software development lifecycle and devise effective solutions.

• Partner with the SOC to enhance detection capabilities, analyze attack patterns and incidents, and convert findings into improved detection rules, security controls, and architectural enhancements.

• Design and assist in the implementation of reusable security controls, tools, automation, and services.

• Define and refine technical security standards, engineering guidelines, reference architectures, and security best practices.

• Review intricate technical designs and provide actionable security recommendations.

• Serve as a bridge between Security Operations and Engineering.

• Report directly to the VP of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in security engineering, software engineering, infrastructure security, product security, or closely related technical roles.

• Extensive hands-on experience in security engineering and the design of security controls for production environments.

• Proficient experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-throughput environments.

• Proficiency in Polish and English required (minimum B2/C1).

• Experience in performing security architecture reviews, threat modeling, technical security assessments, or similar security design activities.

• Strong understanding of application security, infrastructure security, network security, authentication, authorization, and common attack techniques.

• Experience in securing cloud and on-premise environments.

• Good understanding of Linux, containers, Kubernetes, networking, and modern distributed systems.

• Programming or scripting experience in at least one general-purpose language such as Python, Go, Java, C++, or similar.
