Staff Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Recognize recurring AppSec issues and transform them into architectural solutions.

• Collaborate with product teams to eliminate vulnerabilities from software design.

• Oversee product security projects from initiation to completion.

• Establish private package repositories.

• Enhance software composition analysis tools.

• Optimize the development lifecycle and GitHub workflows.

• Create AI-assisted vulnerability analysis and draft-fix functionalities.

• Cultivate trusted partnerships with developers and communicate security risks in straightforward terms.

• Assist teams in adopting secure development methodologies.

• Take ownership of security initiatives and represent Product Security in cross-functional teams.

• Provide mentorship to colleagues as the most experienced hands-on engineer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive application security experience at the staff level, including management of security initiatives from start to finish and direct collaboration with development teams.

• Development experience; Ruby on Rails is preferred, or alternatively, proficiency in Python, Java, or C# with a willingness to work within a Rails codebase.

• Capability to review a draft pull request and determine the correctness of the fix.

• Proven track record in identifying systemic vulnerability trends and implementing architectural solutions with engineering teams.

• Strong interpersonal skills with developers and stakeholders.

• Practical experience with AI in security projects, preferably in building automation.

• Experience in securing AI functionalities within a product is a significant advantage.

• Must currently reside and be employed in Canada.

• Must have the right to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship.
