Staff Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical direction as a Staff-level individual contributor without managing personnel.

• Collaborate with various teams across the organization to identify genuine risks and collectively develop security roadmaps.

• Assist teams in safely enabling AI workflows.

• Evaluate new tools and agents prior to deployment and determine approval parameters.

• Conduct threat modeling for MCP, agentic workflows, and SaaS-to-SaaS integrations.

• Transform threat modeling outcomes into implemented security controls.

• Define security standards for other teams.

• Streamline security processes to manage increasing workloads without expanding team size.

• Safeguard laptops, networks, identities, SaaS tools, and AI agents utilized by Canva employees.

• Proven experience in a similar technical role.

• Strong understanding of security principles and practices.

• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.

• Proficient in threat modeling and security control implementation.

• Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly.
