Staff Security Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage security log pipelines, encompassing collection, transformation, enrichment, and delivery into the SIEM.

• Enhance the SIEM by integrating new sources and constructing as well as fine-tuning detections and alerts.

• Implement and optimize security controls on managed macOS and Windows workstations and AWS WorkSpaces virtual desktops.

• Create internal tools and automate processes to minimize manual triage and remediation tasks while expanding team capabilities, primarily utilizing Python.

• Integrate security tools via APIs and write connecting code across the security infrastructure.

• Define secure Infrastructure as Code standards using reusable modules and policy as code.

• Embed security measures into CI/CD processes through scanning, secrets detection, and policy-as-code checkpoints.

• Manage the reliability and coverage of security pipelines and tools as a central platform.

• Implement safe changes directly in systems managed by other teams and guide them through the review process.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of practical experience in security engineering with a focus on automation, tooling, and instrumentation.

• Proficiency in writing custom code and scripts, mainly in Python, to create tools and log pipelines from the ground up.

• Practical experience in building and managing complete log pipelines: collection, parsing, enrichment, and delivery to SIEM.

• Direct experience with SIEM in onboarding sources and developing or adjusting detections and alerts.

• Background in deploying and overseeing endpoint security across diverse macOS and Windows environments, including virtual desktops.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code; proficiency in Terraform is essential.

• Familiarity with creating CI/CD pipelines and incorporating security checks within them.

• Knowledge of a major cloud provider, preferably AWS.

• Capability to work autonomously and lead projects without daily supervision.
