Staff React Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee the fundamental architecture of CHG’s React-based reporting platform hosted on Snowflake.

• Establish best practices for component patterns, data fetching, state management, and performance optimization.

• Act as the primary technical authority on architecture.

• Assess tooling and integration strategies, including Snowflake-hosted applications, Snowpark, and API layers, in collaboration with leadership.

• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics engineering, and BI teams to prioritize and transition Tableau dashboards to React.

• Guide and support engineers, BI developers, and analysts across the organization through code reviews, workshops, and pair programming.

• Develop and advocate for AI-enhanced engineering tools and frameworks that enable the team to build more efficiently and consistently within platform standards.

• Report directly to the Director of Data Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, and contemporary front-end tooling.

• Strong skills in data visualization and charting, including experience with D3, Recharts, or Highcharts.

• Demonstrated ability to architect front-end platforms utilized by multiple teams.

• Capability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, analysts, and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

• Practical experience in building or customizing AI-driven developer tools, including AI coding assistants, custom agents/MCP integrations, or internal LLM tooling.

• Strong sense of ownership and comfort working with a high level of autonomy and ambiguity.

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• 5+ years focused specifically on React and front-end architecture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehousing solutions.

• Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading technical enablement initiatives preferred.

• Familiarity with migrating legacy BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to custom-built solutions is preferred.
