
Staff Product Manager, Specialty Benefits Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the design and continuous improvement of Leap's specialized benefit programs.
• Establish program frameworks, participation criteria, member incentives, clinical exceptions, plan specifications, and clinical guidelines.
• Convert business and client requirements into product, operational, and partner specifications.
• Identify necessary capabilities, infrastructure, and partnerships.
• Determine whether to develop capabilities in-house or collaborate with external partners.
• Assess, select, negotiate, and formalize agreements with TPAs, utilization management firms, and healthcare providers.
• Manage partner performance, contract renewals, and renegotiations.
• Create operating models, prior authorization processes, service-level expectations, exception management, and escalation procedures.
• Oversee execution post-launch and make daily product and operational decisions.
• Address issues that arise with both internal and external partners.
• Define and monitor engagement, utilization, savings, member satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
• Leverage data and operational insights to enhance outcomes and develop scalable models for various clients.
• Own and effectively communicate the value proposition.
• Act as the product and technical expert during discussions with prospects and clients.
• Collaborate with Sales and Client Success to align client needs with program structures.
• Create customer segmentation and assess the total addressable market for different program configurations.
• Prioritize which configurations to develop and target towards specific client segments.
• Proven experience managing a healthcare product or service from its design stage through implementation and operational execution.
• Direct experience working with self-funded employers and TPAs.
• Familiarity with navigating operational dependencies among employers, TPAs, health plans, networks, and utilization management partners.
• Experience in identifying capability gaps and either developing or sourcing solutions.
• Hands-on experience evaluating vendors and negotiating contracts and commercial terms.
• Ability to balance member experience, client cost savings, and operational practicality in product and operational decisions.
• Confidence in serving as the product and technical expert during sales and client discussions.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare benefit design and utilization management practices is preferred.
• Experience with specialty drugs, infusion therapy, buy-and-bill models, or site-of-care programs is preferred.
