Staff Product Manager – Modeling Platform

📋 Description

• Define and advance the foundational modeling capabilities that drive CaptivateIQ products.

• Establish modeling primitives such as objects, relationships, inputs, calculations, outputs, components, dimensions, and measures.

• Facilitate the creation of complex models using reusable and composable components.

• Create uniform representations for actuals, forecasts, versions, and scenarios.

• Define cross-model interoperability concerning data, assumptions, calculations, and outputs.

• Collaborate with Engineering on schemas, APIs, system behavior, performance constraints, and architectural trade-offs.

• Oversee the strategy and roadmap for the Modeling Platform.

• Decide on shared-platform versus product-specific capabilities and define abstraction boundaries.

• Comprehend customer modeling challenges related to incentive compensation, sales planning, and FP&A.

• Work alongside Design and product teams to develop intuitive modeling experiences.

• Drive alignment among Product, Engineering, Design, and domain experts.

• Ensure the platform is compatible with AI agents while preserving deterministic execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management, preferably with platforms, data, modeling, analytics, or other technically intricate products.

• Proven history of constructing shared platform capabilities utilized across various products, teams, or use cases.

• Strong technical fluency and the ability to work closely with senior engineers on architecture and system design.

• Familiarity with or a solid understanding of modeling systems, including data, relationships, calculations, and business logic.

• Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills across Engineering, Design, Product, and other stakeholders.

• Strong judgment and communication abilities when addressing ambiguous problems and navigating complex trade-offs.

• Background in enterprise modeling, planning, analytics, BI, data platforms, spreadsheets, or developer platforms.

• Knowledge of FP&A, sales planning, incentive compensation, workforce planning, or related enterprise planning domains.

• Experience with semantic layers, calculation engines, data modeling systems, workflow engines, or low-code/no-code platforms.

• Experience in developing platforms intended to support AI or agent interactions.
