This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and uphold the product strategy, identify target customer segments, assess customer needs, define value propositions, and outline the scope for Managed WordPress and Managed WooCommerce.
• Create and oversee product roadmaps that encompass strategic priorities, investments, trade-offs, dependencies, and anticipated outcomes.
• Guide decisions regarding features, packaging, service tiers, upgrade pathways, and the overall customer experience.
• Recognize and prioritize AI capabilities in areas such as onboarding, site creation, optimization, maintenance, and growth.
• Collaborate with the VP of Product and cross-functional stakeholders on AI vision and software strategy.
• Discover unmet customer needs, validate opportunities, and spearhead the development and launch of new products and capabilities.
• Direct customer discovery, validation, prototyping, experimentation, and hands-on assessment of AI models, prompts, tools, and agent frameworks.
• Specify product requirements for AI-enabled and agentic capabilities while partnering with Engineering and stakeholders throughout the design, development, launch, and enhancement phases.
• Assess AI agents for tasks such as site setup, content generation, performance optimization, migrations, and customer support.
• Establish or contribute to standards for AI evaluation, quality, safety, risk management, cost, model selection, and monitoring.
• Propel commercial outcomes including pricing, packaging, margins, adoption rates, conversion rates, retention, and expansion.
• Formulate business cases and product investment proposals.
• Assist in positioning, launches, go-to-market strategies, adoption, and customer growth initiatives.
• Define KPIs, aid in instrumentation and reporting, and convey performance insights, risks, and recommended actions.
• Engage with customers and customer-facing teams via interviews, support insights, sales discussions, feedback, community engagement, and other communication channels.
• Take part in WordPress, hosting, developer, agency, and partner communities.
• Cultivate relationships with agencies, developers, technology partners, plugin providers, and theme providers.
• Represent the company and its products in industry or community forums and events.
• Mentor and guide product managers while developing product management practices and standards.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives, ensure stakeholder alignment, and address product risks, dependencies, and uncertainties.
• Assume people-management responsibilities if assigned.
• Extensive product management experience at Staff, Principal, Lead, or similar scope and impact level.
• Proven understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, including plugins, themes, agencies, freelancers, and website development and maintenance practices.
• Experience with web hosting, cloud infrastructure, or related technology products.
• Proven track record in leading or significantly contributing to the development and launch of new products or capabilities from inception to adoption.
• Practical experience in developing, testing, evaluating, or launching AI-enabled products or features.
• Experience with prompt development, model-output evaluation, experimentation, or customer-facing AI implementation.
• Experience in designing, implementing, or managing AI agents or agentic systems, including tooling, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and handling of failures or exceptions.
• Experience influencing commercial outcomes such as revenue growth, pricing, packaging, monetization, margins, or overall business performance.
• Experience in defining, monitoring, and utilizing product and business KPIs.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, coaching, or managing product professionals or cross-functional product teams.
• Demonstrated customer focus and experience integrating direct customer feedback into product decisions.
• Experience in building, supporting, or participating in developer, creator, open-source, or similar professional communities.
• Technical knowledge of software development concepts, technical documentation or code, APIs, and engineering collaboration.
• Preferred: experience founding, operating, or leading a business, agency, product venture, or similar initiative.
• Preferred: experience in a multi-product or portfolio business.
• Preferred: familiarity with open-source communities, contribution models, governance practices, and commercial frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively exchange information.
• Regular use of a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment.
• Ability to remain stationary and work at a desk or computer for extended periods.
