This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product requirements and specifications for the next-generation kiosk, ensuring alignment with customer, operational, and business necessities.
• Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering and PMO to guide the design and manufacturing partner through a structured development process (concept → EVT → DVT → PVT → mass production), establishing clear exit criteria at each stage.
• Manage the reliability loop: work with operations to source and analyze field-failure data, assign root causes to designs as appropriate, and collaborate with hardware engineering to define and validate solutions — while incorporating those insights into the next-generation design.
• Establish firmware requirements with engineering, focusing on diagnostics/telemetry and over-the-air update capabilities, enabling fleet improvements without necessitating field visits.
• Define and track quality metrics; make informed decisions on build-vs-modify and make-vs-buy based on data analysis.
• Collaborate with software teams to ensure that issues are clearly articulated with supporting data, justifying the investment in requested enhancements to the existing fleet.
• Master the ability to decline requests with clear reasoning and data to support decisions.
• Travel to the field, design firms, and manufacturing sites as needed for the program.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in product management, with a focus on physical or hardware products.
• Proven experience in bringing a hardware product from concept to mass production, including navigating the EVT/DVT/PVT validation phases.
• Experience working on the client side with external industrial design firms and/or contract manufacturers, managing both the relationships and requirements.
• Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and embedded/firmware domains; experience managing firmware requirements and hardware/software interface adds value.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills — capable of constructing a cost/reliability business case and supporting tradeoff decisions with data.
• Familiarity with connected or field-deployed hardware (IoT, kiosks, vending machines, robotics, EV charging stations, ATMs) is advantageous.
• This position may also qualify for short-term and long-term incentives based on both individual and company performance.
