• Oversee the development, documentation, and implementation of Deel's design system.
• Enhance and uphold the quality, consistency, and scalability of UI components and patterns across both web and mobile platforms.
• Ensure that the system adheres to best practices in accessibility, localization, and responsiveness.
• Champion the public visibility of the design system to highlight Deel's design excellence.
• Direct the vision for designing robust, reusable components that cater to multiple use cases through the strategic use of variables.
• Create highly technical components, including customizable Data Grids, Form builders, and navigational patterns.
• Promote stronger engineering practices to enhance collaboration between designers and engineers.
• Develop tools that improve the experience of both designers and engineers at Deel.
• Mentor and assist designers in effectively adopting the design system.
• Act as a catalyst by producing foundational work that can be consistently reused across all product teams.
• 5-7 years of experience in Product Design, with a minimum of 4 years dedicated to design systems at scale.
• A robust portfolio that demonstrates system-level thinking and component design for intricate digital products.
• In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards, usability principles, and responsive design applicable to both web and mobile platforms.
• Proven track record in developing and evolving scalable design systems that accommodate extensive product surfaces.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, design tokens, component libraries, and design documentation methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to align and influence stakeholders across various functions.
• Experience working closely with engineers on component implementation, quality assurance processes, and internal tooling development.
• A proactive problem-solver capable of leading projects with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with the MUI (Material UI) component library and its underlying framework architecture.
• Demonstrable exploratory experience using the Figma MCP server.
• Experience with the Figma Plugin API and creating internal tools to facilitate design workflows.
• Front-end development experience (React, TypeScript) and an understanding of design-token-driven development.
