Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the browsing, quoting, and booking processes from start to finish as we broaden our supplier categories to include lodging and cruise.

• Identify the reasons behind advisors' hesitance to adopt current integrations and resolve the user experience issues that hinder their participation, thereby increasing booking volume on Tern.

• Develop the framework for supplier discovery and quoting within Tern's agentic AI, establishing the methodologies for browsing and quoting through Chat.

• Engage with advisors on a regular basis to incorporate their actual workflows (and their motivations for using supplier portals) into the product development.

• Collaborate closely with the integrations Product Manager and engineers to assess the technical possibilities with partner APIs and plan for deliverable versions.

• Contribute to shaping the design culture at Tern as the team grows: providing critiques, establishing systems, creating rituals, and participating in future hiring processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in 0→1 product design across complex surfaces: You have successfully delivered significant products end-to-end in a startup or fast-paced environment, including launching new products from the ground up, not merely refining existing workflows.

• Designing within real constraints: You adeptly navigate UX, technical, and business trade-offs, crafting exceptional experiences within the limitations of legacy UX and third-party APIs. You understand when to advocate for perfection and when to prioritize learning through shipping.

• Strong product instincts and speed: You operate quickly and practically, managing numerous projects at varying stages, delivering value without waiting for ideal conditions.

• Flourishes in uncertainty and takes ownership of results: You proactively seek clarity, take initiative, and ensure that users' perspectives are integrated into your work.

• Passionate about AI-driven workflows: You continuously enhance your impact by experimenting with and incorporating new tools into your design process.

• Bonus points: Experience in designing integrations, marketplaces, or booking/quoting tools.

• Bonus points: Familiarity with travel tech or other fields characterized by complex third-party data and supplier/partner APIs.
