Staff Product Designer, Conversational AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Drive discovery initiatives across products by engaging with users, analyzing transcripts, reviewing analytics, and pinpointing user disengagement areas.

• Establish design patterns for both generative and declarative user interfaces, encompassing model composition, fixed elements, and recovery strategies for incorrect guesses.

• Launch the initial version on WhatsApp and outline the expansion of patterns to native iOS and Android platforms.

• Set the strategic direction for conversational product experiences, focusing on product coexistence, context continuity, and financial transparency.

• Provide design leadership to squad designers across Credit, Core Send, Activations, and other product areas.

• Collaborate with legal and risk teams to incorporate disclosures and consent into the conversational user experience.

• Conduct research, prototype, present, and generate concepts alongside product managers and runtime engineers.

• Operate within an async-first, lightweight process environment that promotes swift decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience designing consumer products with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, including at least two years of leading design for a conversational or AI-native product.

• Proven ability to lead discovery efforts across product teams and translate findings into actionable direction.

• Direct experience with declarative user interfaces.

• Experience with generative user interfaces is considered a plus.

• Proficiency that spans from pixel-perfect design to strategic thinking.

• Extensive fluency in Figma and comfort with prototyping in code.

• At least two mobile products successfully launched end-to-end.

• Familiarity with AI as a creative collaborator, including tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Design, or Codex.

• High tolerance for navigating legal, risk, model behavior, and failure-state constraints.

• Openness to sharing work in its early stages and inviting constructive critique.

• A required portfolio link showcasing at least one conversational or generative UI project with visible reasoning.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

• Experience in fintech, regulated domains, WhatsApp Business Platform, or similar messaging environments is a bonus.
