Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and guide the technical strategy for platform infrastructure, reliability, and scalability projects.

• Design and assess intricate system architectures that facilitate company growth and adapt to changing business requirements.

• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and technical frameworks across various teams.

• Enhance system observability, incident response protocols, and operational excellence throughout the platform.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to ensure technical investments are aligned with business objectives.

• Mentor engineers and offer technical direction that enhances engineering capabilities throughout the organization.

• Develop and refine backend services, infrastructure tools, and shared platform functionalities.

• Identify technical debt, scalability challenges, and operational vulnerabilities before they become business obstacles.

• Extensive experience in designing and managing large-scale backend platforms and distributed systems.

• Profound expertise in building, scaling, and modernizing production Django applications.

• Expert-level experience in architecting and managing cloud environments on AWS.

• Proven capability to design resilient, secure, and scalable systems that facilitate substantial business growth.

• Advanced understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, performance optimization, and data modeling.

• Experience in establishing observability, monitoring, incident management, and reliability practices.

• Demonstrated success in influencing engineering decisions and guiding technical direction across teams.

• Exceptional ability to convey complex technical concepts and nurture the development of other engineers.
