Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain scalable runtime production environments across cloud-native and containerized systems, including adapting applications for Kubernetes-compatible deployments on bare-metal.

• Take ownership of the technical roadmap for the platform vertical, pinpointing gaps, strategizing initiatives, and aligning engineering efforts with mission objectives.

• Mentor engineers within the team, promoting professional growth and enhancing technical standards.

• Recognize technical overlaps across projects and guide teams on collaborating for more efficient delivery.

• Collaborate closely with Mission Managers, offering insights on engineering capabilities, capacity, velocity, and alignment with mission goals.

• Partner with product teams to provide feedback on product suitability and contribute to product direction based on actual usage in production.

• Engage with customers to establish technical roadmaps that correspond with mission objectives.

• Champion and implement DevSecOps practices throughout the platform layer, including security automation, container security, and compliance.

• Assess and choose the best methods to tackle complex business challenges, evaluating new products and their potential influence on mission objectives.

• Propel ongoing enhancements in CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and operational tools.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US citizen and eligible for a Secret security clearance.

• Proficient in resolving highly technical challenges that encompass multiple areas of expertise.

• In-depth knowledge in 1-2 key technologies such as pipelines, GitOps, Kubernetes, or Go.

• Proven experience with Kubernetes and containerized systems.

• Expert in YAML.

• Skilled in security automation with familiarity in API Security, Container Security, and Cloud Security.

• Knowledgeable in architectural security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in intricate enterprise environments.

• Experience with continuous delivery, distributed architectures, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services.

• Capable of identifying and articulating deficiencies in current processes and iterating towards improved methods of operation.

• Demonstrated history of evaluating and selecting effective solutions for complex business issues.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in uncertain environments.

• Excellent communication abilities and capacity to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

• Experience working within a team that follows an Agile framework in a remote setting.
