This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the comprehensive interconnection process for Antora projects spanning MISO, SPP, ERCOT, and other RTOs/ISOs as necessary, which includes preparing applications, entering queues, and tracking milestones throughout each required study phase.

• Act as Antora's main technical liaison with RTO/ISO interconnection personnel, transmission owners, and utilities regarding study scope, assumptions, and outcomes.

• Navigate the specific interconnection regulations, tariffs, cluster study cycles, and procedural requirements that are unique to each RTO/ISO, translating these differences into actionable guidance for internal teams.

• Monitor and manage financial postings, security deposits, milestone deliverables, and agreement obligations (such as GIA/LGIA/ISA) across the interconnection portfolio.

• Create and maintain single-line diagrams (SLDs) for proposed interconnection setups, from initial feasibility concepts to formal application submissions.

• Conduct and/or critically assess stability, dynamic, load flow, and short-circuit studies to analyze system impacts of proposed interconnections and validate third-party study results.

• Assess sizing and configuration alternatives (e.g., point of interconnection, voltage level, equipment arrangement) to determine the most advantageous technical and commercial route for each project.

• Interpret utility and RTO study findings (system impact studies, facilities studies, deliverability analyses) and communicate the implications for cost, schedule, and project viability clearly.

• Direct and oversee external engineering consultants conducting interconnection studies, modeling, and SLD development, ensuring adherence to technical rigor, schedule, and cost efficiency.

• Define consultant engagements, review deliverables for quality and completeness, and ensure vendors meet Antora's technical standards.

• Collaborate with site selection and project development teams to evaluate interconnection feasibility and technical risks before committing to sites, utilizing hosting capacity data, previous study history, and engineering judgment.

• Identify and highlight interconnection risks (such as restudy exposure, network upgrade cost drivers, deliverability constraints) early enough to affect site selection, project sequencing, and commercial agreements.

• Develop and uphold repeatable frameworks, checklists, and tools to standardize how Antora evaluates and mitigates risks for new interconnection opportunities across RTOs.

• Work closely with the transmission strategy, project development, policy, and commercial teams to align interconnection execution with broader tariff and siting strategies.

• Clearly communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to non-technical internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in power systems engineering, interconnection studies, or transmission planning, with hands-on experience managing interconnection applications through one or more RTOs/ISOs.

• Proven experience in developing single-line diagrams and conducting or critically reviewing load flow, short-circuit, stability, and dynamic studies.

• Familiarity with commercial power system modeling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, ASPEN, or similar).

• Strong understanding of FERC, NERC, and RTO/ISO interconnection processes, tariffs, and cluster study frameworks, with direct experience in at least one of MISO, SPP, or ERCOT.

• Experience in managing or directing external engineering consultants on technical deliverables.

• Established ability to independently assess interconnection configuration and sizing trade-offs and make sound technical recommendations amidst uncertainty.

• Experience in interconnecting storage, generation, or large flexible loads, particularly in co-located or hybrid configurations.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (with a focus on Power Systems) or a related field.

🏝️ Benefits

• Equity compensation in the form of stock options.

• Comprehensive health benefits package including life and disability insurance.

• 401K plan with employer contributions.

• Flexible spending accounts.

• Industry-leading paid-time-off policy featuring flexible and inclusive holiday observance.

• Paid volunteer time off.
