Staff Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision for agent systems

• Create multi-step LLM systems that incorporate reasoning, retrieval, planning, and tool usage

• Oversee evaluations ranging from offline benchmarks to online experiments and model-graded assessments

• Detect and resolve failure modes such as hallucinations and improper tool usage

• Define the quality, latency, and cost objectives for the team

• Guide senior engineers and influence the operational dynamics of the group

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience delivering ML solutions in production, including large-scale LLMs

• Proven experience in leading the design of intricate, multi-step LLM systems

• Strong knowledge of transformers, embeddings, and retrieval methods

• Experience in evaluation techniques that extend beyond single prompts

• Familiarity with PyTorch or similar frameworks on distributed cloud platforms

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

• Master's or PhD is an advantage

• In-depth experience in retrieval tasks, including chunking, reranking, and evaluations

• Background in deploying ML solutions prior to LLMs and transitioning into generative AI
