Staff Frontend Engineer

Posted Jul 28

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and implementation of Pulse's frontend for our Teams and Slack applications, overseeing everything from component design to production.

• Transform vague product objectives into well-defined, deployable experiences by collaborating closely with design and product teams to establish flows, edge cases, and rollout strategies.

• Develop and sustain a reusable component and design system that maintains product consistency and accelerates team efficiency.

• Define API contracts and the frontend service layer, utilizing Node.js, GraphQL, and REST to link the user interface with our platform services.

• Enhance quality standards through rigorous testing, accessibility improvements, performance optimization, telemetry, and controlled rollouts.

• Engage in product decision-making, offering insights on what to create and the rationale behind it, rather than simply executing tasks.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers and establish frontend standards and practices for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in building production-level frontend and full-stack systems, with extensive knowledge of React, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend architecture. Familiarity with Angular, Vue, or Next.js is advantageous.

• Proficient in backend and API development with Node.js, GraphQL, and REST, enabling ownership of the complete flow from UI to service contracts.

• Possess a genuine design sensibility and a proven history of collaborating with designers to deliver polished, user-friendly interfaces rather than merely providing wireframes.

• Demonstrated experience in scaling products from early stages, including the insight to determine what to develop now versus what to postpone.

• Comfortable with experimentation, observability, CI/CD, and phased releases within a production context.

• A product-oriented mindset: you prioritize customer outcomes and business results, not just the technical aspects of coding.

🏝️ Benefits

• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.

• Flexible work hours and remote working options.

• Comprehensive health insurance and wellness programs.

• Opportunities for professional development and growth.

• A dynamic and inclusive work environment.
