This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver comprehensive user interface and user experience design solutions across Drupal, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, and bespoke web applications.
• Evaluate existing web content and assess usability.
• Collect and document stakeholder requirements and user expectations.
• Create design plans and wireframes for new websites and applications.
• Build user interfaces that adhere to USDA and MRP branding guidelines.
• Develop branding manuals, reusable templates, and components that are in line with organizational standards.
• Evaluate compliance with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
• Offer training and support to developers, site owners, content managers, and citizen developers.
• Assist KDS's USDA client under the MRP LSIT Infrastructure Services Modernization Support contract and Objective 13 of the PWS.
• Work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, including a one-hour lunch break.
• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Relevant education and work experience in a combination will be taken into consideration.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in UX/UI design and web development.
• Proficient in user interface design for web content management systems, web applications, and low-code/no-code platforms.
• Experience with CSS and frameworks such as Bootstrap and Tailwind.
• Practical experience with Drupal, SharePoint, and Microsoft Power Platform.
• Ability to conduct usability analyses and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Skilled in interviewing stakeholders to ascertain and document user requirements.
• Experience in producing wireframes.
• Competence in developing branding manuals, reusable templates, and compliant components.
• Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government PIV card.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully pass a NACIC background investigation.
• Required to obtain ITIL V4 Foundations Certification within 90 days of the start date.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Experience in a federal government or contracting environment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with federal agency branding guidelines is preferred.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience in providing training and support to site owners, content managers, and citizen developers.
• Understanding of Microsoft Power Apps or Power Pages.
• Familiar with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
• Experience in an Agile or comparable project management environment.
• Knowledge of USDA mission, infrastructure, and IT services is a significant advantage.
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
