Staff Engineer, Frontend

📋 Description

• Establish and drive the front-end technical strategy within the Account Experience teams.

• Take ownership of the architecture for a complex, data-rich merchant platform, focusing on patterns, state management, and performance attributes.

• Influence the development of Primer AI Companion as a premier merchant interface.

• Ensure a consistent experience across Account Setup, Monitors, Workflows, and Auditing.

• Create foundational shared components and design systems.

• Guide engineers across teams through code reviews, design evaluations, and technical mentorship.

• Manage accessibility, performance budgets, and front-end observability.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineers to inform technical decisions.

• Oversee projects from design to production following a "you build it, you own it" philosophy.

• Proven experience functioning at a staff or principal level.

• Experience in defining front-end technical direction across various teams.

• Extensive front-end engineering proficiency with TypeScript and React.

• Demonstrated success in architecting complex, long-lasting web applications.

• Expertise in state management at scale, performance, accessibility, and component-system design.

• Strong technical judgment with the ability to gain engineering trust.

• Comfortable reasoning about APIs and services while collaborating with backend engineers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with payments, fintech, or platform environments is a plus.
