Staff Engineer, ERP Workday – Financial Functional Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Set up, maintain, and provide support for Workday Financial Management modules in accordance with business needs.

• Serve as the Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Financials and associated business processes.

• Work in conjunction with finance teams, business stakeholders, and IT personnel to collect requirements and create effective Workday Financial solutions.

• Evaluate business processes and suggest system enhancements to optimize Workday Financial capabilities and operational effectiveness.

• Configure and oversee Workday Financial business processes, security, and functional settings.

• Ensure that Workday Financial solutions meet organizational business requirements, compliance standards, and best practices.

• Lead initiatives for Workday Financial enhancements, releases, testing, validation, and production support.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate functional and system-related issues within the Workday Financial platform.

• Create and maintain functional and technical documentation, including configuration documents, technical specifications, test plans, process flows, and user manuals.

• Keep track of new Workday Financial features and advocate for the adoption of relevant functionalities and best practices.

• Ensure that Workday solutions are delivered promptly and adhere to project timelines.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to foster their technical and professional development.

• Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure Workday Financial solutions are in line with the organization's overall technology strategy.

• Support Agile project delivery methodologies and engage in planning, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Effectively communicate functional and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of total experience.

• Extensive experience in configuring, maintaining, and supporting Workday Financials.

• Practical functional expertise across Workday Financial Management modules.

• Experience in configuring and maintaining Workday Financial business processes and system settings.

• Proven capability to gather business requirements and convert them into scalable Workday Financial solutions.

• Strong understanding of Workday Financial architecture, business processes, security concepts, and configuration best practices.

• Experience in supporting Workday Financial enhancements, releases, testing, and production support.

• Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver effective functional solutions.

• Experience in developing and maintaining functional and technical documentation, including business requirements, configuration documents, test plans, and user manuals.

• Strong understanding of Workday Financial reporting and system capabilities.

• Ability to ensure Workday Financial solutions align with business goals and organizational standards.

• Excellent project management skills with the capability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve complex functional issues.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to communicate technical and functional concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders and business leaders.

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.

• Experience working in Agile development and project delivery settings.

• Workday Financials Certification is preferred.

• Experience in supporting enterprise-scale Workday Financial environments is a plus.

• Availability to work during US business hours overlap, with a shift from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST.
