Staff Engineer – Cloud Network Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute extensive cloud network architectures, encompassing virtual networks, subnets, and routing methodologies.

• Supervise the deployment and management of cloud networking resources, such as load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls.

• Design and implement network security policies and practices, including encryption, access controls, and threat detection mechanisms.

• Monitor network performance and apply optimization strategies to improve throughput and minimize latency.

• Collaborate with DevOps, software engineering, and IT teams to integrate cloud networking solutions effectively.

• Identify and troubleshoot connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and security incidents.

• Generate comprehensive documentation for network designs, configurations, and operational processes.

• Provide regular updates on network performance, incidents, and enhancements.

• Remain updated with emerging cloud technologies and suggest new tools and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in network architecture or cloud engineering.

• Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud network environments on AWS and Azure.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure networking services, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, load balancing, IPsec VPN, AWS Direct Connect, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Cloud WAN, Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual WAN, Azure Firewall, and hybrid cloud connectivity models.

• Experience with network security practices and tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption techniques.

• Proficient in automation and Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid understanding of dynamic routing protocols and hybrid routing design, including BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, route filtering, prefix management, and troubleshooting complex routing behavior in both cloud and on-premises settings.

• Familiar with network monitoring and performance analysis tools.

• Essential skills: Cloud Networking, Cloud Infrastructure - AWS (Strong), Cloud Infrastructure - Azure (Strong), Cloud network design.
