Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead technical initiatives that impact multiple teams and address critical technical requirements across the organization.

• Drive architectural decisions and investigate performance issues that span various teams.

• Foster alignment on technological choices and collaborate with engineering leadership on the technical roadmap.

• Develop applications and services.

• Share responsibility for the platform's technical vision and influence.

• Coordinate with the team on product roadmaps, specifications, and priorities.

• Ensure that users receive timely and precise information.

• Advance architecture to enhance operational efficiency and facilitate business growth.

• Contribute to Stellar’s engineering culture and maintain high production code quality.

• Review colleagues’ work and offer constructive feedback.

• Establish standards through code and design reviews, as well as technical contributions.

• Expand the EHR Data Pipeline to ingest and process clinical data for over 200,000 patients.

• Create and enhance features of the Stellar Health application powered by EHR data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of ten years of overall experience, with recent hands-on production-level coding experience.

• Proficiency in Python is preferred; experience in Java, C++, or Go is also acceptable.

• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Experience with Django or a similar web framework.

• At least two years of experience in building data processing pipelines.

• Proven experience in leading and coordinating cross-functional architectural projects and rollouts.

• Skilled in writing highly available, low-latency services and deploying them in a production environment.

• Strong emphasis on clean code and architecture.

• Ability to quickly identify root causes in complex issues.

• Demonstrated capability to collaborate across engineering teams to enhance systems and designs.
