Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Enhance the onboarding process, which includes registration, identity verification (KYC, KYB), and fraud prevention workflows.

• Develop and advance core identity, profile, status, and user preference services within the Cashea ecosystem.

• Create resilient integrations with biometric engines, fraud prevention technologies, and KYC providers.

• Define and asynchronously communicate user lifecycle events, such as registration, tier transitions, and profile modifications.

• Implement clean coding practices, thorough testing, sophisticated observability, and reliable rollback strategies.

• Collaborate with technical leads, product managers, and engineering directors to establish an architectural roadmap.

• Guide and empower senior engineers through mentorship.

• Set the technical direction, make architectural choices, and ensure systems perform efficiently under high concurrency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer in designing and managing complex distributed systems at scale, preferably within identity platforms, core user services, or high-volume onboarding processes.

• Advanced expertise in Node.js and NestJS (TypeScript), or the capability to technically lead in this stack with comparable high-performance technologies such as Rust and/or Go.

• Extensive knowledge of Hexagonal Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS), REST/gRPC API design, PostgreSQL optimization, and Redis caching.

• Strong experience with message queuing and event streaming technologies, including RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.

• Proficient in integrating and abstracting KYC, biometrics, and data-enrichment services using fallback patterns, circuit breakers, and smart retries.

• A hands-on builder mindset with the ability to envision long-term solutions, deliver immediate value, and produce high-quality reference code.

• Proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Must be located in LATAM.
