Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical reference point for the squad and the wider engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices in architecture, performance enhancement, and accessibility standards.

• Spearhead design and architectural conversations for systems, making critical decisions regarding frameworks, state management patterns, component architecture, and design systems.

• Champion and guarantee the production of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code. Conduct regular code evaluations and provide guidance to team members.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to grasp requirements, offer technical insights, and ensure timely feature delivery.

• Contribute to the strategy and vision of the engineering department, introducing innovative ideas to enhance customer-facing experiences.

• Tackle complex technical issues, devise innovative solutions, and optimize existing systems for scalability and performance.

• Mentor and support team members, aiding their growth in technical roles and career paths.

• Utilize AI-native tools and methodologies to enhance development speed, product capabilities, and engineering efficiency throughout the software lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years in software engineering, with a proven history of building and evolving intricate, high-scale systems and customer-facing applications.

• Strong full-stack proficiency, with expertise in:

• Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript

• Backend: JavaScript, Java, Golang

• Consistent mentoring of senior-level engineers, leading to impactful results.

• Extensive experience in AWS-based cloud architecture environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of contemporary software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectures.

• Familiarity with AI-native tools that enhance productivity and speed (Cursor, Make.com, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, Vercel, etc).

• Capability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in designing high-traffic web applications and scalable distributed services.

• Proven track record of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• A proactive owner ready to engage hands-on. This position entails coding and reviewing others' code.

• Ability to implement customer-facing solutions that effectively address customers' true needs while providing exceptional user experiences.
