Staff Developer Advocate – Enterprise – EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Travel to enterprise customer locations throughout EMEA, dedicating roughly 50% of your time to deliver Temporal DevDays, our premier on-site technical enablement initiative, specifically customized to each account's use cases, architecture, and adoption phase.

• Develop and conduct hands-on labs, architectural walkthroughs, and workshop sessions that empower enterprise engineering teams to confidently leverage Temporal.

• Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Account Executives, and Customer Success to define and prepare for each engagement, ensuring successful outcomes.

• Contribute sample applications, lab exercises, and reusable materials to the shared DevDays content library.

• Conduct train-the-trainer sessions when applicable.

• Organize semi-regular enterprise office hours for engineering teams based in EMEA.

• Present webinars on enterprise-relevant subjects, such as complex workflow patterns, AI-driven agentic backends, observability, scalability, and platform integrations, timed to accommodate European time zones.

• Work closely with the DevDays program owner, DevRel, and field teams to identify relevant topics and formats that resonate with enterprise audiences in the region.

• Participate in and present at industry conferences, enterprise developer events, and meetups across Europe that are pertinent to the enterprise engineering community.

• Create technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, architectural guides, diagrams, and videos.

• Collect structured feedback from DevDays sessions, office hours, and enterprise engagements to identify product gaps, developer experience challenges, and adoption obstacles within the EMEA market.

• Act as the regional advocate for enterprise developers, relaying EMEA-specific patterns and needs to the wider DevRel, Engineering, and Product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on distributed systems.

• Residing in Berlin, Germany, with the legal right to work in the country.

• Proficient in one or more Temporal SDK languages (Python, Go, Java, TypeScript), alongside a solid understanding of distributed systems, state management, and workflow execution concepts.

• Proven experience leading technical workshops, hands-on labs, or enablement sessions for senior engineering audiences.

• Direct engagement experience with enterprise engineering organizations, understanding how large teams adopt and scale developer tools.

• Experience mentoring colleagues in both formal and informal capacities.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% within EMEA, with occasional international travel.
