Staff Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop the foundational infrastructure for an AI-driven design practice.

• Influence the visual and interactive aspects of Mixpanel in an AI-centric environment.

• Serve as the connection between design and development.

• Establish prototyping and AI tooling infrastructure.

• Set and exemplify high standards in craftsmanship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in contemporary front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Next.js.

• Proven experience with design systems, preferably having built or significantly revamped one at scale.

• A keen design sensibility, demonstrating a commitment to craftsmanship, consistency, interaction quality, and aesthetics.

• Proficient in AI-enhanced workflows, including canvas-to-code, code-to-canvas, AI prototyping tools, MCP integrations, and emerging trends in this field.

• Familiarity with tools like Figma, Storybook, VSCode, Chromatic, and GitHub.

• A history of collaboration across design and engineering disciplines; you possess experience in both areas.

• Capable of working independently with a high degree of autonomy: you define direction, influence standards, and manage complex projects with minimal guidance.

• 8+ years of experience in design engineering, UX engineering, design technology, or a similar hybrid role.
