This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the design activities of systems and mechanical engineering for intricate industrial and nuclear projects.
• Prepare and evaluate engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, specifications, calculations (including pipe stress, hydraulic, safety valve sizing, ventilation sizing), and equipment layouts.
• Create designs for piping and utility systems that enhance facility infrastructure, process support systems, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with process, structural, electrical, and instrumentation & controls engineering teams.
• Conduct field walkdowns for piping and mechanical systems, aiding design verification efforts.
• Support evaluations of piping systems, selection of equipment, and modifications to designs.
• Assist in project planning, procurement, construction, startup, testing, and commissioning as required.
• Engage in design reviews and address technical challenges.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams as necessary.
• Ensure that designs meet relevant industry codes, standards, safety protocols, and client specifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• More than 9 years of pertinent experience.
• Experience in supporting the design of piping and mechanical systems for industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or nuclear facilities.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, P&IDs, piping layouts, and mechanical design documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
• Preferred experience in supporting DOE, NNSA, Naval Reactors, or commercial nuclear projects.
• Preferred experience with 3D modeling or CAD tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, SolidWorks, CREO, or similar software.
• Preferred experience with analytical software (e.g., pipe stress analysis, hydraulic analysis, MathCAD, MatLab, etc.).
• US Citizenship is required.
• Must possess the ability to obtain a security clearance.
