Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate as part of a team of mechanical engineers or fitters, typically comprising two engineers across various sites.

• Execute intricate and detailed overhauls and replacements of assets.

• Perform mechanical repairs and modifications on dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other related apparatus.

• Conduct inspections, services, and repairs on customers’ dewatering machinery.

• Install pipework utilizing plastic, stainless steel, mild steel materials, and other supplementary equipment.

• Provide standby cover and overtime as necessary, along with the ability to work away from home.

• Complete test reports, installation certificates, and customer feedback documentation.

• Finalize customer paperwork, including permits to work and safety documents.

• Collaborate with on-site customer teams, acting as the initial point of contact.

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of dewatering equipment and accessories at sewage and clean water treatment facilities.

• Ensure energy-efficient operation of assets, reducing downtime and potential pollution risks through effective maintenance.

• Assist in minimizing raw material consumption on assets by performing thorough service and maintenance tasks with first-time fixes.

⛳️ Requirements

• NVQ or a recognized apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 3.

• Full UK Driving License.

• Practical engineering maintenance experience.

• Desirable: Compex Trained.

• Confined Space Trained.

• First Aid Trained.

• Clean Water Qualification.

• SHEA Water Qualification.

• IOSH Managing Safely.

• DSEAR Awareness.

• PASMA Trained.
