Staff Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• As one of the initial data science team members, you will play a crucial role in shaping how Purpose comprehends the clients on our wealth platform.

• You will construct the measurement framework, behavioral models, and causal infrastructure that links product decisions to client results.

• Identify the key metrics to evaluate within a platform that generates thousands of behavioral signals.

• Develop AI analytics systems with the precision of a statistician.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Demonstrated experience in building and assessing predictive models in production-like environments, including classification, survival models, segmentation, scoring, calibration, and cost-sensitive decision frameworks.

• Practical knowledge of causal inference techniques: A/B testing, matching/propensity scoring, difference-in-differences, and regression discontinuity.

• Background in a regulated sector (financial services, healthcare, or similar).
