Staff Cloud Security Engineer, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform regular security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure and services.

• Monitor and react to security events and incidents within cloud environments.

• Create and uphold cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.

• Keep abreast of emerging threats to cloud security and strategies for mitigation.

• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Terraform templates that include security controls.

• Implement, manage, and oversee endpoint security solutions in cloud settings, employing tools such as Cortex XDR and SentinelOne.

• Configure, manage, and resolve issues with cloud-based firewall technologies.

• Enforce zero trust principles through rigorous network segmentation, authentication, and authorization across our cloud environments.

• Work collaboratively with development teams to integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 7 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or related roles.

• More than 5 years of experience in security engineering, including computer and network security and security protocols.

• Profound understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience in securing CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and internal tools.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Relevant GCP certifications (such as Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer) are highly preferable.
